The Democrat Building

DESCRIPTION

The Democrat Building was built in 1984 as the new office for the Daily Democrat, Woodland’s 125+ year old local newspaper. When the building was purchased in 2013, the Daily Democrat’s offices occupied the entire footprint of the building. The Daily Democrat downsized their offices, and the remaining space was converted into additional business spaces. During this renovation, solar panels were also installed on the roof. The location of the newspaper’s printing presses is now inhabited by the Blue Note Brewery. Other tenants in the building include Alliance Entertainment, Sunnicakes, Yaquis Tapas, YCRC Conflict Resolution and Parsons Financial.

The Democrat Building is located adjacent to the Heritage Plaza, as well as Woodland’s historic opera house on Main Street.
